blog counter

I need to put a counter on the blog to check how many visits I get each day but can't remember how to do it. Can anyone tell me how to do it please?

    Hope this is possible for you to follow - i have just been though this on my blog to check Go to:

    1.dashboard.
    2. choose Design
    3 Select "add a gadget"
    4 "show stats" is the second option
    5 Choose from the list of options
